Boise State Roster Countdown 2022: Day 6, Sam Vidlak

Any sadness found in my last countdown article of the year is shored up in knowing gameday is less than a week away. Today we bring in a special athlete, recruited from Oregon State to divulge their secrets. I present #4, Sam Vidlak.

#4, Sam Vidlak, RS Freshman, QB

Sam Vidlak

Stats

Height: 6’0

Weight: 195

High School: Hidden Valley HS, Applegate OR (Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR)

How’d he get to The Blue™?

It kinda just happened. Sam’s only FBS offer out of high school was Oregon State, so he committed there. It was a pleasant surprise when we found out he was heading our way come signing day, and he’ll make a difference no doubt.

Nickname

“Vendetta Vidlak”

Idk it just sounded cool and feels thematically appropriate.

Look-alike

If not for the minor detail of him being born in the 21th century, Vidlak could’ve also been a member of NSYNC alongside Lance Bass

Career Highlights

Sam played one game for the ‘Beavs last year, throwing 3 passes, completing 2 of them.

2022 Prospectus

Vidlak has been a really interesting story to follow. No one really expected his transfer or how a “pocket passer QB” would fit in the Ploughfense, but he’s impressed. Obviously Hank is the starter, but Vidlak has made a case for #2 over Taylen Green which few saw coming. Time will tell, but the man’s a redshirt freshman, only way to go is up!

Is he on Twitter?

That he is

Completely made up fact

Tim Plough has announced that Vidlak will call the plays for the game Saturday because the QB managed to sneak a play sheet and hide it under his shirt on the way out of the Oregon State facility.
