Boise State lands its long-awaited quarterback commit

Already with a recruiting class full of last-minute heroics, the Boise State staff turned in another eleventh-hour W with a commitment from quarterback Alex Ogle of Jensen Beach, Florida. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Ogle had interest from a number of big-time regional schools (Miami, Georgia) and offers from Florida Atlantic and Florida International. He was secretly hoping for an offer from Boise State, and I guess offensive coordinator Mike Sanford read his mind. Does Mike Sanford know I'm secretly wishing to call some plays this season?

Ogle is a sleeper on the recruiting scene due to a late-blooming offense that didn't bloom until his high school coach was fired into Ogle's senior year. Judge for yourself how many touchdowns he'll throw based on his highlights. Sanford saw him throw on Wednesday and guesstimated one billion touchdowns.

Ogle figures to be the only high school quarterback commit from the 2014 recruiting class, unless Brad Kaaya or Brock Raggio really enjoy competition. Here's Ogle in full Bronco regalia, pictured with Mike Sanford at a Florida Steak 'n Shake. Burning question: Did Ogle just happen to wear a BSU jacket to dinner or did Sanford give him his?
