Three-star offensive lineman, five-star scholar commits to Boise State

In yet another blow to Vandal fans' cries of "Boise Junior College" and "morans!", Boise State picked up a commitment last night from Andres Preciado, a 6-foot-6, 250-pound offensive lineman from the San Diego area who carries a 4.3 GPA and dreams of changing the world with a Boise State engineering degree. Preciado had offers from Columbia, Dartmouth, and Brown, among others. Instead, he chose the Boise State, Harvard of the Snake River.

Bronco coaches plan to redshirt Preciado next season while they stuff him full of whole-food carbs to make weight. He's destined for the left tackle spot.

You can call Preciado a sleeper since neither Scout, Rivals, nor ESPN have him ranked. There is a story published in the UT-San Diego paper on his three-sport prowess - football, basketball, and baseball. No mention of sport No. 4: academic bowl.
