A few notes:

  • Our QB room is very young and inexperienced. But with the addition of former #1 overall 5 star recruit Malachi Nelson, Boise could have one of the best QBs in the conference and maybe even the nation. Madsen and Tiller both got some valuable experience last season and will be good to go should the need arise.
  • George Holani is gone, but Jeanty and Dubar could prove to be an even more dangerous duo.
  • WR is very intriguing. 2022 receiving leader Latrell Caples is back from injury after sitting out all last season. He'll have to compete with the former #1 overall and 5 star WR recruit Chris Marshall and former Big10 WR Cam Camper who will both see playing time right away. Last years surprise standouts Prince Strachan and Austin Bolt will also be in the mix for playing time along with Colorado transfer Chase Penry.
  • The O-Line returns a lot of experience and should be able to easily open holes for Jeanty and Dubar.
  • The D-Line will return all of it's starters from last season and should be a force to be reckoned with after adding more fire power in Ball State Edge Tavion Woodard and JUCO recruit Daylon Metoyer.
  • Although DJ Schramm is a big loss at the LB position, Guys like Andrew Simpson and Deshawn Misa will do just fine anchoring that group.
  • Defensive Back was unquestionably the worst position on the team last season. Everyone is back and hopefully the extra season under their belts will jumpstart the major improvement this DB squad needs to see in 2024. The addition of Cal transfer Jeremiah Earby, FAMU Transfer Tevin Griffey, and highly touted recruit Sire Gaines should help this group improve.
  • Special teams will continue to be a highlight of the team this year as they return the Nations top Punter in James Ferguson-Reynolds and record breaking Kicker Jonah Dalmas.

Overall The offense should see a major improvement over last season With multiple 5 star players and a heisman candidate running the show. Special teams is going to be really special and the D-line should be one of the best in the conference. The Secondary has a lot to prove though.

Top Players:

Offense - Ashton Jeanty - Could he become the first player in BSU history to win a heisman?

Honorable mentions - Malachi Nelson, Chris Marshall, Latrell Caples

Defense - Ahmed Hassanein - He had somewhat of a breakout season last year, can he do it again in 24?

Honorable mentions - Andrew Simpson, Seyi Oladipo, A'Marion McCoy

Special Teams - James Ferguson-Reynolds - The best Punter in the country.

Honorable mentions - Jonah Dalmas.
