We’ve made it to July and a well-deserved long weekend, but OBNUG takes no days off. Today, we’re enjoying a popsicle and preparing the grill for the holiday parties, while also hiding the dogs in the basement from all the amateur explosive experts that pop up this weekend. All that notwithstanding, today’s countdown is #63 - OL Mason Randolph

#63, Mason Randolph, Redshirt Freshman, OL

Stats

Height: 6’ 4”

Weight: 310 lbs.

High School: Yorba Linda HS, Yorba Linda, CA

How’d he get to the Blue™?

A three star offensive lineman, Mason’s services were in high demand, with offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Michigan State, and Boise State. Continuing the Yorba Linda pipeline, Mason followed Mike Callahan and Nathan Cardona to the Blue.

Nickname

“The Bricklayer”

While Mason likes to have a good time, he’s reportedly all business during games.

Look-a-like

Daredevil’s Foggy Nelson, aka Elden Henson, is a pretty close simulacrum.

Career Highlights

2022 Prospectus

2021 was a rough year for the O-line. While the new staff managed to make thing work, usually, it was not the rock of consistency that Boise State needs to get their combined run/pass balance. There is a fair amount of depth with upperclassmen and starting experience, but with Coach Keane looking for some better chemistry and consistency, anything could happen.

With a strong fall camp, Mason could very well find himself with some playing time on rotation, or even a starting slot. There’s a lot remaining to shake out, though, and predicting offensive line slots is the roulette of offseason gambling.

Is he on Twitter?

You betcha! Mostly hyping up his friends and teammates.

Completely made up fact

Since arriving at Boise State, Mason has become a homemade pancake connoisseur. His remixes on the popular breakfast pastry have involved everything from bacon to fruit and various mixes of sweet and savory.
