Today marks 96 days until Boise State kicks off the 2022 season. But it is also a solemn day as it marks Memorial Day. No jokes in this introduction so lets move on to — Luke Voorhees
#96, Luke Voorhees, RS Freshman, TE

Stats
Height: 6’ 3”
Weight: 235 lbs
High School: Pierce HS, Arbuckle, CA
How’d he get to The Blue™?
Mr. Voorhees came on to the roster last year as a walk-on. After that, not much, on the interwebs at least, as far as recruiting. Seeing as how Boise State has a pretty good track record with turning walk-ons into solid contributors, hopefully we will be saying the same for Voorhees.
He did have some other offers from Chicago, Valparaiso, and—what I think is a misprint(?)—Duplicate.
Nickname
“Jason”
Low-hanging fruit, to be sure. But, dangit, gotta capitalize.
Look-alike

Honestly, kind of getting some Canelo Alvarez vibes here. Must be the strong jaw line.
Career Highlights
While in high school had 54 catches with 847 yards, 10 receiving TDs and 11 total TDs. Defensively he had 132 total tackles, and 12 sacks.
He redshirted last year so he doesn’t have any Boise State highlights—yet.
2022 Prospectus
Since his redshirt last year, hopefully he will be able to see some game time this year.
Being a tight end, that’s going to put him a ways down the roster with the likes of Riley Smith, Casey Kline, and Tyneil Hopper, seemingly, going to get the lion’s share of the snaps.
But there is certainly nothing precluding Mr. Voorhees from seeing time on special teams.
Is he on Twitter?
I couldn’t find a Twitter as of this writing but I will keep checking.
Completely made up fact
Despite the last name, Mr. Voorhees adamantly does not like hockey. Couldn’t ever figure out how to stop.
