In what is going to be a necessity for the Broncos MBB team to be competitive next year, the Broncos got some good news today from a pivotal player:

Mr. Shaver has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will be back for one last year to help lead the Broncos a year removed from a Mountain West double-title. Shaver had one more year of eligibility due to COVID-19 rules.

As BJ Rains presciently points out the Broncos will be missing Kibag, Armus, and possibly Akot going into next year. So the Broncos getting any returning firepower from the 2022 team is going to be a welcomed addition (retention?). Rains does point out that Degenhart and Agbo (along with Shaver) will make for a decent lineup.

What is a positive result for Shaver are the NLI agreements that he has been able to secure going into the year. These agreements probably factor a lot into the decision of whether or not to stay in the NBA Draft and, maybe, get a spot on a pro team or come back to college.

At any rate it is seeing Shaver in a Boise State jersey is going to be very welcome next year.
