We are nearing the halfway point of our countdown. At this point I can’t quite remember what we are counting down towards, regardless, I present to you, #52 MLB DJ Schramm
#52, DJ Schramm, RS Junior, MLB
Weight: 227 lbs
High School: Clovis West HS, Fresno, CA
How’d he get to the Blue™?
A three-star recruit per 247Sports and Rivals, Mr. Schramm spurned offers from Air Force, Army, and San Jose State. Hometown squad Fresno State very curiously not on the list. Very curious. Anyway, he chose correctly with the Broncos.

Other than his blocked punt return against Colorado State (one of three that night by the Broncos), DJ hasn’t made an incredible impact at the position yet. He played in 9 games during the 2019 season with 5 tackes, and 7 games last season with 7 tackles.
The Broncos remain fairly deep at linebacker this year. Schramm will likely find himself on special teams, and coming off the bench once again this season. He will play behind Ezekiel Noa, but could compete for the back up spot now that Wickersham has graduated. Here’s to hoping DJ can make an incredible impact when he does get the chance to step on the Blue, much like he did last year.
Is he on Twitter?
He sure is, not much of a tweeter though. You could probably fit all of his tweets from the last few years into fewer than 140 characters.
Completely made up fact
The additional ‘m’ at the end of his last name is a remnant of a marketing stunt devised by DJ’s great grandfather, Detlef Jakob Schram, a German restauranteur who added the ‘m’ in hopes that his name would become synonymous with the sound we all make when eating delicious schnitzel, “‘mmmmm”.
