Broncos react to sign Kurt Rafdal: is this urgency a sign of things to come?

Those loyal to the Broncos cause would have been forgiven for feeling a little let down by their favourite team in recent times. The season didn’t go as many expected or hoped for, and the pressure is now on the coaching staff to shake things up.

The Broncos’ faithful want assurances that better times are just around the corner. They demand action from the under-fire backroom team, and they demand it now. There’s no time to waste. Fans have become accustomed to cheering their team on to victory in recent seasons, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be grateful for the good times they’ve already had. There's an unquenching thirst for success.

Will things improve in the near future? The current betting odds attached to Broncos at Sportsbook Bonus suggest traders at the leading betting apps remain unsure. But there have been recent off-field developments that offer encouragement.

Broncos must act swiftly

How does Andy Avalos expect to get the support on sight and settle the tension? By acting quickly. He has high standards in terms of the players he wants working for him. He needs football stars who are willing to put their bodies on the line for the cause. Players that are happy to run through brick walls to win a match.

Broncos fans were caught a little off-guard with the news their team had moved to sign Kurt Rafdal. The club’s offensive coordinator had gone on record as saying the Broncos needed a tight end, and less than 24 hours later, they had one in the form of Kurt Rafdal.

Kurt was signed to give the Broncos strength in depth in the tight end position. It was a spot in the squad that needed improving. Fans have known it for some time, and those who made their feelings clear on social media last season will be delighted the club’s staff are listening. Others will be blown away by the speed of the transfer.

Broncos spotted an area that needed improving and went out to get their main. No messing about. Is this a sign of things to come this year? Can fans expect to see deals done quickly, allowing players time to settle in and understand the history and expectations of this great club? The paying public certainly hopes so.

Rafdal brings vital experience

What will they get from newbie Rafdal? The recent addition certainly fits the bill of warriors who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and do the dirty jobs. Kurt is an exceptional player with bags of skill and scope for improvement. But he’s also a brave player who is fit enough to go into the trenches for his club.

The one time Nebraska tight end comes with the experience of playing football at the Big Ten level. That will help the coaching team bypass the need to explain how things work. Kurt can take his instructions and get right down to work.

Standing at 6ft 7inches tall and weighing in excess of 240 pounds, Rafdal is an imposing player, one who stands out from the pack, even on a football field. He comes after spending four seasons in Nebraska, where he enjoyed his share of success, proving his worth and potential in the game. Having played over 25 competitive matches in the tight end position, he looks to be just what the Broncos are looking for. Size, strength, speed and experience. Kurt has it all, making him a major signing and statement of intent.

Kurt out to prove himself

He may arrive in town with a reputation and the weight of expectation on his shoulders, but from a selfish stance, Rafdal will want to make this move work for him. He hasn’t been as active as he would have liked, and despite putting up impressive numbers early in his career, things have tailed off a little.

He’ll want to go straight into the Broncos squad and hit the ground running. He has two years of eligibility left and knows he must make the most of them. A talented player in a hurry to get his career back on track is excellent news for the Broncos support, who will be hoping this move proves mutually beneficial for both parties.
