Bronco football adds yet another 2020 commit in Andy Nwaoko

I’m sure Boise State knows that the 2021 commitment season is well underway, but darn it, they’re just not quite done yet adding 2020 guys to the fold. That’s just what they did whilst I was taking a late summer nap an hour ago with Andy Nwaoko (6’4” 220 lbs) from Blue Ridge School in Virginia coming aboard.

I don’t know if I’ve seen a more interesting or thoughtful commitment video, to be honest. Nwaoko thanks every coach that had recruited him, by name...explains his background and ultimately commits to Coach Danielson and Harsin to come play for the Broncos.

Nwaoko has a very intriguing story as well—he left his home in Nigeria just two years ago with a dream of playing Division 1 college basketball, but soon emerged as a talented (if not a tad raw) football recruit. From a guy who hadn’t played football before to the VISAA D-II defensive player of the year, in those two seasons...it’s been quite a journey for Nwaoko (made more interesting by Covid-19 keeping him from in-person campus visits). For the Broncos...Nwaoko is ALL upside. He clearly has some pretty insane athleticism and has great size for an OLB/STUD. He also is a great student and sure to become a great student of the game. Great find by Coach Danielson. If you want to see a little bit of Nwaoko’s athleticism, his highlight video is below:

GO BRONCOS!
