Boise State roster countdown 2020: Day 68, Jake Stetz

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: NOV 02 Boise State at San Jose State Photo by Douglas Stringer/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images

We are almost an entire third of the way to the first game of the (hopeful) season. Just gotta keep the faith!— Stetz

#68, Jake Stetz, RS Senior, OL

Stats

Height: 6’ 2”

Weight: 301 lbs

High School: Mission Hills HS, San Marcos, CA

How’d he get to the Blue™?

Mr. Stetz was a walk-on out of Mission Hills. He wasn’t rated out of high school, per the services, but he is valuable in our hearts! On 247Sports the only interest was Boise State. The only one needed!

Nickname

“Stetson”

Low-hanging fruit (and unoriginal as we’ve been doing this since 2107).

Look-a-like

Professional Jake Stetz-lookalike, Mike Posner. (Supposedly he’s a rapper? Ok.)

Career Highlights

As a member of the offensive line, it’s really about how you don’t want to be known. Kind of like point after touchdown holders, long snappers, and the like. He’s been in a lot of games but not necessarily standing out. This isn’t a dig, by the way. Sometimes the good work goes “unnoticed.”

2020 Prospectus

More of the same I guess. He’s appeared in all games the past two seasons and, barring something unforeseen, he’s probably going to log his fair share of time. The OL has been maligned the last few years, fairly or not. So we will see if that continues or if there is some sort of “breakthrough” that quiets the loud jerks in the back.

Is he on Twitter?

Yep. He’s not too active but he’s on there.

Completely made up fact

Jake Stetz is level 40 in Pokemon Go. Him and I are also Ultra Friends on there and being really diligent about sending gifts back and forth. Only 23 more days and we are BEST friends!
