How’d he get to the Blue™?
Kaden is a local walk-on from McCall. He definitely flew under the normal recruiting radar, but his size, athleticism, and academics have earned him a spot on the team. While in high school he was the Western Idaho Conference MVP as a senior, and was a 2A WIC first-teamer two years in a row.
Nickname
“Sasquatch”
He’s tall, hairy, and from the mountains. It was destined to happen.
Look-a-like
If James Van der Beek bulked up and went scruffy for a Varsity Blues remake, we’re pretty sure DeLuna could do his stunt work; Maybe even the acting work?
Career Highlights
As a walk-on, Kaden redshirted 2018 and didn’t see the field in 2019, but he has some slick film from his highschool days. Look for diving catches, monstrous blocks, and...sacks?!
2020 Prospectus
With John Bates as old man and presumptive starter on the TE crew, DeLuna has a chance to make it in rotation, but he’s gonna have to earn it over yesterday’s countdown, Tyneil Hopper, and the new kids fresh off of their redshirts. Anything is possible, but we’d look more towards blocking and special teams than starting. Here’s to hopefully being pleasantly surprised!
Is he on Twitter?
Completely made up fact
Kaden is the current record holder for “Fastest Cinnamon Roll Eater” at the McCall Pancake House. The man knows his way around a pastry.
