Boise State Game Balls for Sept 1st - 8th

Another week, another round of recognizing awesome.

Game Ball One:

Raven Sweeney (soc)

Scored the game winner for the Broncos against Idaho State to get the Broncos on their program-best 4-0 start.

Game Ball Two:

Sydney Smith (soc)

Smith blocked nine shots on goal to hold the Utah Utes scoreless through a full time plus one overtime. A second OT golden goal from the Utes resulted in the Broncos’ first loss of the season, but Smith did wonderfully in the loss.

Game Ball Three:

Shae Duffy (vb)

Ms. Duffy was named to the Thunderbird Classic all-tournament team. She had three-straight matches of double-digit kills for the Broncos. The Broncos are currently on a 4-match win-streak.

Game Ball Four:

Kekoa Nawahine (fb)

Mr. Nawahine provided a spark for the Broncos in a 14-7 win over Marshall. The defense, only allowing 172 total yards and zero in the second half, helped keep the Thundering Herd in check. Nawahine had four total tackles and an interception.

Game Ball Five:

Curtis Weaver (fb)

Mr. Weaver had six total tackles, a sack, and a tackle-for-loss. Enjoy him while he’s here folks. He’s writing his NFL check as we speak.

Basically the whole Boise State defense deserved a Game Ball. That was a fantastic effort on their part.
