25 days remaining is—holy crap—that’s not a lot of days! On this, the 25th day remaining in football winter, we present to you Lord Benton of the House Wickersham...
#25, Benton Wickersham, junior, linebacker

Stats
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 230
High School: Elko High School, Elko, Nevada
How’d he get to The BlueTM?
Benton Wickersham initially came to The Blue by way of walking on. He had quite a diverse athletic career at Elko High, not only being named Nevada 1-A Lineman of the Year of the Year (on offense) and playing safety, he also had 60+ punts under his belt, made the all-state team in baseball, and played some basketball. He was finally and deservedly awarded a scholarship this offseason.
Nickname
”Old Money”
Prior to losing Leighton Vander Esch to Boise State’s pro affiliate, there was quite the duo of names at the linebacker position with him and Benton Wickersham. However, with Leighton gone, Benton alone has the distinction of a name with sufficient anachronism to conjure thoughts of old money, 19th century European nobility. You can almost smell the dollops of caviar on breakfast croissants after a lively, morning fox hunt. Or at least I can. Because I’m basically always hungry.
For the record though, Benton is a very down-to-earth individual and not at all what I’ve just spent the previous paragraph building him into. A very nice guy...other than on the field. Which is basically exactly what you want in a linebacker!

Career highlights
Lord Wickersham made it into all 14 games in 2017 and collected 16 tackles, with 8 of them being solo. In 2018, he managed to slightly improve on those statistics by increasing his total to 19 stops—10 solo.
Here's my story on Benton Wickersham, who wears the number of his favorite former Boise State player.

2019 Prospectus
Riley Whimpey and Zeke Noah are both likely to be starters at linebacker. However, depth is a little sparse after some departures that included Williams, Maeva, and Lashley. This likely means that Old Money will see his playing time increase—potentially significantly—in his junior campaign.
Is he on Twitter?
He does not appear to be. As always though, I’m happy to adapt to and include new information.
Completely made up fact
This may or may not be a made up fact—as we’ve never spent the holidays together and it could be entirely true—but I like to think that he’s a great chef and that Wickersham makes a wicked ham.
