We are under a month. It went by faster than expected. Today we're checking in with an automatic add to the All-Bronco Name team, #27, Khafari Buffalo.

#27, Khafari Buffalo, Graduate transfer, DB

Stats

Height: 6’ 2”

Weight: 195 lbs

High School: Lakewood HS, Sumter, South Carolina; The Citadel, Charleston, South Carolina

How’d he get to The BlueTM?

From what I can tell, it was all Broncos. I don’t see a lot of indication that Buffalo looked elsewhere. It sounds like it was meant to be.

Nickname

”Giggles”

I read that he has an infectious sense of humor.

Look-alike

Jamie Foxx

Career highlights

In his last season for The Citadel, Khafari had 38 total tackles, 28 solo, 1 tackle for loss, 1 interception and 6 pass break-ups. For his career, he had 79 total tackles, 53 solo, 2 tackles for loss, 1 interception and 7 passes broken up.

2019 Prospectus

As you may have noticed, I listed Buffalo as “DB”. I also believe he will be #7 for the Broncos. His recruiting information indicated that he was a safety, but we seem to be fairly deep at that position, not just in bodies, but players with quality playing time. Pierce is coming off an injury, Nawahine is in his final season, followed up with Evan Tyler, Kekaula Kaniho, Jordan Happle, Tyreque Jones, transfer AJ Smith and potentially JL Skinner, though I think he is probably slated for CB.

Regardless, safety is pretty stacked. That doesn’t mean he couldn’t end up there, but with the amount of experience there, I feel like he could be more useful at CB.

With the graduation of Horton and transfer of Lewis, we currently have 5 scholarship CBs: Avery Williams, Jalen Walker, Marques Evans, Chris Mitchell and Tyric LeBeauf. Tyric is coming off an injury and could be limited. Marques is a sophomore and hasn’t had a ton of experience yet. Mitchell, while highly touted, is coming off a red shirt. Williams and Walker are likely the starters. We do still have Skinner and Reed coming in, and both will compete for sure, but with Buffalo’s experience, I could very easily see him spending plenty of time at CB to help while the younger players gain some experience.

Is he on Twitter?

Indeed he is.

Completely made up fact

As a birthright, Khafari gets free wings at any Buffalo Wild Wings he goes to. He has the ultra-exclusive BWW Platinum card, which grants him this privilege. It does require the purchase of a full-size drink, though.
