We’re a few days in now and it’s all coming back to me. In a month we will be in the thick of it and wondering if it’ll ever end and be football season. In 97 days, it’ll be over and we’ll think, “Wow, that went by fast!” Let’s get a refresher on #97, Keeghan Freeborn.
#97, Keeghan Freeborn, Redshirt Freshman, NT

Stats
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 308 lbs (+8 lbs)
High School: Rocky Mountain High School (Meridian, ID)
How’d he get to The BlueTM?
He was just a few miles away, but enough to where he would need a ride. Keeghan passed on offers from Air Force, Hawaii, Montana State and Idaho to be a Bronco. Really, he was a diamond in the rough for the Broncos despite being the #4 player in the state. That is to say, he was under recruited, in my opinion, and the Broncos got a steal out of their own backyard.
Nickname
”Vanilla Gorilla”
It’s what he calls himself, so I’m not going to dispute that with him.
Look-alike
Former Bronco Chase Baker

Career highlights
Named first-team 5A All-Idaho on the offensive line for his final two high school seasons. Was also named 5A All-SIC first-team as a senior and 5A All-SIC second-team as a junior. Despite playing regularly on the OL in high school, the coaches felt he best fit on the DL at nose tackle due to his nastiness. His high school coaches spoke of this when he was recruited, which is something I like to hear of our future defensive lineman.
2019 Prospectus
It will be interesting to see how this fall plays out. Igiehon had a splendid true freshman campaign and Lui is a known commodity. Fesili is no slouch either, so if Keeghan is going to play at NT, he’ll have his work cut out for him. I don’t anticipate it happening, but if he were to line up at DT, he’d be up against the likes of David Moa, Jabari Watson, Matt Locher and newcomer Scott Matlock, so he would be in a similar situation there.
I anticipate we will see him this season as the coaches like to rotate their players to keep them fresh. How much we see him and at what point in the game, I don’t yet know. Again, fall camp will be interesting watch on the D-line.
Is he on Twitter?
He doesn’t tweet a lot himself, but he does make gritty faces while lifting heavy things.

Completely made up fact
Freeborn’s favorite fruit is cantaloupe. He eats them whole like an apple.
