It feels good. It’s been a week since we won the Mountain West Championship and it STILL feels awesome. Imagine that. The Broncos will take on UW Huskies this coming Saturday in a weird not-so-feel good matchup that will be Coach Pete’s last game (for now).
Let’s see how our future Broncos are doing.
Isaiah Bradford, S, Redlands East Valley HS (Redlands, CA)
Based on available stats, Bradford finished the year with 23 total tackles, 16 solo, and 2 passes defended before his season ended due to injury. Right now, it sounds like the plan is to grayshirt Bradford with his planned enrollment being January 2021. We’ll have to see how that plays out.
Bradford noted on his Twitter on Friday that they performed surgery to repair his torn ACL.
I just had surgery today, everything went well... now it’s going to be a long road to recovery but everything will be worth it and my comeback is going to be crazy just stay tuned.

Brandon Hernandez, OL, Yucaipa HS (Yucaipa, CA)
Brandon’s season is over after his Thunderbirds finished 3-7. Brandon, while playing offense, picked up some stats on defense. He had 29 total tackles, 12 solo, 1 qb hurry and 1 pass defended. Final season highlights for Brandon aren’t yet available, but I’ll update when they are.
Russell Corrigan, TE, Hutchinson Senior HS (Hutchinson, MN)
Hutchinson lost to BHAMASPAS 22-16, ending their season at 11-1. I finally have stats for Corrigan!
Passing - 36-69 (52.2%) 760 yards 5TDs 4 INT
Rushing - 154 rushes 889 yards (5.8 ypc) 31 TDs 1 fumble
Defensive - 3 Total tackles, 1 INT
Very interesting stat line for a player we recruited at TE. It certainly shows he is an athlete, which is what we like!
Donovan Clark, CB, Lincoln HS (Tacoma, WA)
Lincoln lost to Eastside Catholic 21-34 in the semifinals of the Washington 3A State Football Playoffs. Lincoln ends their season at 10-3. Donovan finally seems to have updated stats for the season. He has 21 total tackles, 10 solo, 1 TFL, 1 interception and 5 pass breakups.
Kaonohi Kaniho, CB, Kahuku HS (Kahuku, HI)
Kahuku lost to St. Louis 6-45 in the Finals of the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Football State Championships. Kahuku ends their season at 9-4 and #42 in the nation. No stats are available for Kaonohi.
Nathan Cardona, OG, Yorba Linda HS (yorba Linda, CA)
Yorba Linda lost to St. Paul in the quarterfinals on Friday 16-28, finishing at 10-2 for the year. Stats are not generally kept for offensive lineman.
Robert Cooper, DE, Bethel HS (Spanaway, WA)
Bethel barely lost to Kennewick Friday 20-21, moving to 8-4 for the year. Stats for him aren’t available in the win. The loss ends Bethel’s playoff run. Cooper’s stats, while incomplete, are solid: 32 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 6 sacks through 7 games.
Nick Booker-Brown, DT, Westfield HS (Houston, TX)
Westfield lot to Guyer 17-35 on Friday, ending their season at 13-2, just short of the finals. Defensive stats weren’t available in the win. Booker-Brown only has stats for the first 4 games, in which he has 22 total tackles, 13 solo, 5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks.
LaTrell Caples, WR, Lancaster HS (Lancaster, TX)
The Tigers lost to Lone Star 20-38, ending their playoff run. They finish their season at 11-3. Stats weren’t available in the win. LaTrell had 59 receptions for 1,021 yards (17.3 ypc) and 12 TDs.
Riden Leong, OT, Orange Coast College (Honolulu, HI)
The Pirates were shut out by Southwestern 0-41 on Saturday, moving to 1-9. Stats aren’t generally kept for offensive lineman.
The Pirates season is over.
Chance Luper, WR, Fort Worth Christian HS (North Richlands Hills, TX)
The Cardinals lost to Dallas Christian 21-46 on Friday, moving to 5-6 and ending their playoff . Stats for Chance in the ‘19-’20 season are not yet available.
Semaj Verner, S, Mayfair HS (Lakewood, CA)
Verner’s Mayfair Monsoons ended their season at 5-6 after losing 12-42 to Chino Hills in the first round of the Divion 5A CIF Southern Section playoffs. Stats for Verner are not yet available.
Herbert Gums, DT, Diboll HS (Diboll, TX)
Gums is listed as a high 3-star DT out of Diboll, TX. Coming in at 6’1” and 284 lbs, he passed on offers from LSU, Missouri, Arkansas, Arizona, Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Houston to name a few.
Gums’ Lumberjack squad finished the season 11-1 after losing 6-21 to C.H. Yoe in the Area round of the 2019 TX State 3A D1 Conference Playoffs. Stats for Herbert are not yet available.
Apologies for the gross lack of stats for players. I’m at the mercy of the statisticians for the schools as well as their propensity for loading stats to MaxPreps. I’ll do some searching to see if I can’t find them elsewhere.
The Broncos drew a Las Vegas bowl bid versus the Washington Huskies, which wasn’t much of a surprise to anyone. While it’s a great opportunity for the players to play a P5 opponent, a 12-1 team should get a more high profile game than the Las Vegas bowl. We could see a few more commits soon, so keep you eyes peeled. Signing day is this week and we still have plenty of roster spots.
GO BRONCOS!
