2020 Boise State Recruiting Roundup: 10/27/19

NCAA Football: Boise State at Brigham Young Gabe Mayberry-USA TODAY Sports

We are coming into the last week of October, which means we have a couple of months until early signing period. Right now Boise State has 10 confirmed commits with one “secret” commit yet to announce. The Broncos are currently #2 in the MW behind Air Force. Now, Air Force has 22 commits, so they are #1 just by sheer numbers. The Broncos have an average player rank of .8375, which is a solid 3-star average. BSU is also currently ranked #92 in the nation; a far cry from our top 50 class last year, but that’s ok. I expect the Broncos to finish #1 in the MW. November and December will be very busy months for the Broncos.

We currently have 19 seniors, though that includes Fesili who could be taking a redshirt. He has only participated in 2 games. We also have the potential for Weaver and Cleveland to leave early. So we could be losing 21 players, meaning we may have 23-25 scholarships with attrition factored in. Meaning we could have room for 11 to 15 more scholarship players. Again, November and December will be busy!

Isaiah Bradford, S, Redlands East Valley HS (Redlands, CA)

In case you missed it, Bradford’s season is over, unfortunately, due to an injury.

REVHS lost to Carter 28-39. They remain winless at 0-9.

REVHS takes on Citrus Valley (8-1) on Friday, 11/1 at 7:00pm.

Brandon Hernandez, OL, Yucaipa HS (Yucaipa, CA)

Yucaipa edged Redlands Friday 22-19, moving to 3-6 on the year.

Next up for the Thunderbirds is Cajon (7-2) on Thursday, 10/31 at 7:00pm.

Russell Corrigan, TE, Hutchinson Senior HS (Hutchinson, MN)

HSHS is now 9-0 after smashing Mankato East 60-14 in their first game of the MSHSL Class AAAA Playoffs. Still no stats available for Corrigan.

HSHS will play Marshall (9-0) on Friday, 11/1, time TBD.

Donovan Clark, CB, Lincoln HS (Tacoma, WA)

Lincoln beat Lakes 42-24 this week, improving to 6-2 and are on a 6-game winning streak after starting 0-2. No stats for Donovan were available in the win, but he did have a pick-6.

The Abes next opponent is Robert Cooper’s Bethel squad (6-2) this Friday, 11/1 at 7:00pm.

Kaonohi Kaniho, CB, Kahuku HS (Kahuku, HI)

Kahuku outlasted Mililani 7-3 on Saturday in the first round of playoffs, moving to 8-3 on the season. Stats for Kaniho in this game is not yet available.

Their next game is still TBD.

Highlights from the game against Punahou are below.

Nathan Cardona, OG, Yorba Linda HS (yorba Linda, CA)

Yorba Linda beat Villa Park on Friday 42-17 to move to 8-1 for the year. Stats are not generally kept for offensive lineman.

The Mustangs play Canyon (2-7) this Thursday, 10/31 at 7:00pm.

Robert Cooper, DE, Bethel HS (Spanaway, WA)

Bethel blanked Bonney Lake on Friday 34-0 to improve to 6-2 for the year. The glitch has been fixed on Max Preps and Cooper is listed on the roster. Stats for him are only available through the first two games in which he has 9 total tackles.

The Braves play Donovan Clark’s Lincoln team (6-3) this Friday, 11/1 at 7:00pm.

Nick Booker-Brown, DT, Westfield HS (Houston, TX)

Westfield destroyed Aldine 67-0 on Saturday, improving to 7-1. Defensive stats weren’t available in the win.

The Mustangs play Nimitz (2-6) this Thursday, 10/31 at 7:00pm.

LaTrell Caples, WR, Lancaster HS (Lancaster, TX)

Caples’ Tigers are 8-1, coming off a 33-10 win against Mansfield Timberview HS. Stats weren’t available in the win.

The Tigers play Highland Park (3-5) this Friday, 11/1 at 7:30pm.

Riden Leong, OT, Orange Coast College (Honolulu, HI)

Leong, listed at 6’ 5” 320 lbs is a MASSIVE get for the Broncos, both literally and figuratively. We graduate a ton of our offensive line this year and could lose Ezra Cleveland to early departure. Leong passed on offers from Iowa State, Hawaii, San Jose State and Liberty to be a Bronco.

Leong’s Pirates are currently 1-6 coming off a 7-56 loss to Saddleback College.

The Pirates play Grossmont this Saturday, 11/2 at 6:00pm.

Leong’s most recent highlights from Bakersfield are below.

The Broncos travel to a resurgent San Jose Spartan squad coming off a big win against Army. Hopefully the Broncos used the bye week to address some challenges we saw against BYU. Keep you eyes peeled for our silent commit to come forward as well as more GO BRONCOS tweets!

GO BRONCOS!
