In what has to be welcome news to the coaches, and the rest of Bronco Nation, Boise State has announced that their kickoff against San Diego State on October 6th is set for 1:30 p.m.

Per the release by Boise State athletics:

For the first time in six years, the Boise State football team will play a home game during the month of October in the afternoon. The Broncos’ match-up against San Diego State, set for Oct. 6 (Saturday), will kick at 1:30 p.m. on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

Which is fantastic news for those who have been hankering for (and being very vocal) an afternoon kickoff for the past few years.

The decision on which channel will be dependent upon the outcomes of this weekends games. Naturally we all would want, and appreciate, a game that is broadcast on ESPN2, but ESPNU wouldn’t be the worst thing. The fact that an afternoon game in Boise is actually happening is the news.

Hopefully this will encourage those on the fence about attending the game to actually do so.
