25 days to glory. Sounds like an awesome 30 for 30 episode. Today let’s look at #25 on the Boise State football roster—Benton Wickersham
#25, Benton Wickersham, sophomore, linebacker

Stats
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 230
High School: Elko High School, Elko, Nevada
How’d he get to The BlueTM?
Benton Wickersham initially came to The Blue by way of walking on. He had quite a diverse athletic career at Elko High, not only being named Nevada 1-A Lineman of the Year of the Year (on offense) and playing safety, he also had 60+ punts under his belt, made the all-state team in baseball, and played some basketball.
Nickname
”Old Money”
Much like Leighton Vander Esch of yesteryear, the name "Benton Wickersham" might as well be prefixed with the title of "Lord". It conjures such vivid images of boarding schooled, old money new worlders that I can almost hear the caviar being scooped onto $50,000 fundraiser plates.
For the record though, he also seems like one of the more down to earth, least assuming individuals possible. But... that name!
Look-alike
Actor Travis Van Winkle

Career highlights
Lord Wickersham made it into all 14 games last year, one of which was a start. He amassed a total of 16 tackles. He was also the feature of an excellent Dave piece, which can be read here:
Here's my story on Benton Wickersham, who wears the number of his favorite former Boise State player.

2018 Prospectus
Linebacker is a position where the Broncos lost some production from last year. Gabe Perez and Vander Esch moved on to become an accountant and 20% of the reason the Dallas Cowboys are spared from my complete and utter contempt...respectively. In order to fill the void, there are a ton of bodies at the position in redshirts this year that can be called upon, but also plenty of returning experience. Benton comprises a large piece, literally and otherwise, of that "returning experience". Look for him to again utilize his size and experience to capably provide fresh legs to all linebacker-y efforts in what will likely be a heavy rotation at the position.
Is he on Twitter?
He does not appear to be. As always though, I'm happy to adapt to and include new information. I'm not, however, open to adapting how I feel about any Dallas Cowboys not named DeMarcus Lawrence, Tyrone Crawford, Coach Kellen Moore, Cedrick Wilson, or Leighton Vander Esch. So, don't ask!
(Okay, you can ask. It's because of a deeply entrenched football rivalry with a sibling)
Completely made up fact
His family initially claimed credit for inventing wicker patio furniture, but that was later discovered to be a sham. I'm still bent on it.
