Today we break into the 20’s with #29, veteran Sean Modster.

#29, Sean Modster, RS Senior, WR

Stats

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 190 lbs. (-6 lbs)

High School/College: Mission Viejo HS, Mission Viejo, CA

How’d he get to The Blue™?

It looks like Sean passed on an offer from Colorado to come play for the Broncos. While the Buffs haven’t been a perennial power, passing on a Power 5 school isn’t usually the norm when it’s an option. Hats off to you, Sean. You made the right choice!

Nickname

“Mod”

It’s what I always want to call him. And a squad can’t be one person, right?

Look-alike

Kid (Christopher Reid) of Kid ‘n Play fame

Career Highlights

Modster has had a good career for the Broncos. Last year, he had 32 receptions for 335 yards and 3 TDs in 14 games. In total, he has had 43 receptions for 509 yards and 3 TDs for the Broncos.

As a senior at Mission Viejo, he had 37 receptions for 783 yards and 13 TDs, earning him All-South Coast League Most Valuable Offensive Player honors.

2018 Prospectus

The depth chart was released last week and that helped shed a bit of light on some things. Sean is in solid position this season as he is listed as the starter at WR, backed up by CT Thomas. Again, this depth chart is current-state. Fall camp will have to play out until we REALLY know what the position looks like. Based on his experience, Sean should be in good shape. While his stats haven’t been CRAZY over the last few years, but he’s seen a steady increase and should not expect otherwise this season. I do expect the position to be more of a committee situation vs. last year with Wilson getting the majority of the looks.

Shakir, Cobbs, Hightower and Thomas will all be pushing to get some playing time, so Sean will need to stay on his toes, just like every other wide receiver, since there wasn’t a ton of production behind Wilson and Sperbeck the year prior.

Is he on Twitter?

So he is, but as is common with many players I cover, he is a chronic RTer, that is, he does not Tweet original content often. This is what Damien used last year as well.

Completely made up fact

Despite being a receiver, Sean actually threw a football “over them mountains”, Santiago Peak specifically. His arm hurt real bad afterward.
