They say things come in threes. And, in this case, three days are what is left until Boise State heads down to Troy, Alabama. So, with that, we are going to review a true freshman for the Broncos—Brandon Hawkins
#3, Brandon Hawkins, freshman, SLB

Stats
Height: 6’ 2”
Weight: 209
High School: Georgetown HS, Georgetown, TX
How’d he get to The BlueTM?
He was the second Boise State commit (after Phillip Mills) for the class of 2018. Coming out of TX the linebacker had himself quite the productive career and offers.
Mr. Hawkins was a consensus three-star recruit among the three services, 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN. Hawkins was a two-time team captain at Georgetown. He also was a human wrecking ball his senior year amassing 125 tackles, four sacks, two safeties (WE BETTER SEE A SAFETY DANCE IN HIS BOISE STATE CAREER), and a unanimous selection to the Texas All-District 19-5A First Team. So, he’s kind of good.
Also, Mr. Hawkins may have been a heavy influence on Bronco baseball commit Cole Posey.
As for offers: Air Force, Army, Colorado State, Houston, Indiana, Navy, and Washington State. Those were just the notable ones.
Nickname
”Brando”
I know it’s really low-hanging fruit to just take the ‘n’ off his name. But Marlon Brando was pretty cool and I think Brando fits.
Look-alike
Mario Lopez

Well maybe his nickname should be ‘A.C. Slater’?
Career highlights
None in a Bronco uniform. His high school stats weren’t too shabby though. He should be filling this spot up sooner than we think.
2018 Prospectus
Like I have said before about other true freshman: it’s almost a waste to not get them on the field in some capacity with the new redshirt rules. And Hawkins is no different. When, and where, remains to be seen. The defensive side of the ball has a lot of studs and a lot of linebackers to get through before Hawkins would (likely) get the call up. But special teams and mop up duty for sure.
Is he on Twitter?
He does the Twitter thing. He doesn’t tweet a whole lot. But he knows how to make a shoutout.
Happy birthday bro, keeping balling out @BEAU_JANGLES12

Completely made up fact
You may, or may not, have heard of the Netflix Original show, Stranger Things. In it, four youngsters in Hawkins, Indiana go on crazy adventures and meet some interesting folks and make friends along the way. The shows premise based off of Brandon’s life. To honor him, the show runners named the city after him. It was the least they could do.
