Because bragging about things are pretty cool, and I feel we are not known for our chill around these parts, let’s talk about yet another bragging point: the Broncos are ranked no. 22 in the Associated Press preseason poll:

The Broncos, who open the 2018 campaign Saturday, Sept. 1, at Troy (4 p.m. MT, ESPNews), have now been ranked in the AP Poll for 17 straight years, a streak that is tied for eighth in the nation with USC.

That’s some pretty nice bragging rights and some rare air.

The Broncos are the second-highest rated Group of Five school with UCF checking in at no. 21. As a bit of a reminder, the Broncos were also no. 22 in the Coaches Poll with UCF at no. 23.

While the games still need to be played, and the rankings in the final weeks are what really matter, the Group of Five school hoping to make the elusive New York Six bowl game does need all the momentum they can get headed into the season. But only having to compete with UCF (for now) for the spot does bode well for the Broncos. Just have to keep their nose clean during the season.

Your turn

Football season is almost here everyone. Just brace yourselves. In the meantime, let me know what you think about the ranking.
