Rolling on the momentum from last year, and quite possibly reputation, the Boise State Broncos football team has made another appearance in the USA Today Amway Coaches poll.
This marks the seventh time in 10 years that the Broncos have made it in this poll to open the season.

The rankings played out as you would imagine they did. Alabama no. 1 and Clemson no. 2. As it stands, the Broncos are the highest-rated Group of Five school with the no. 22 ranking. Last year’s G5 representative in the NY6 Bowl, University of Central Florida, chimed in at no. 23.
The Broncos have been seen as a strong candidate for this year’s spot. With a mixture of a returning senior quarterback, a thousand-yard rusher, a high-quality defense that returns nine of eleven starters, and talented youngsters, the expectations are lofty.
Though the spot is not guaranteed by any means, it is vitally crucial that the Broncos take whatever momentum they can with these preseason polls to stay ahead of any other competition. While these bowls tend to shake themselves out in the end, it is easier to stay in front than it is to leapfrog when all competing teams are undefeated.
As it stands, Oklahoma State clocks in at no. 25. This marks the only opponent on the Broncos’ schedule that would be ranked, if all things held, by the time they meet. The article gave no mention of ‘others receiving votes’. Though Fresno State and San Diego State may have gotten some loving too.
Update: Others receiving votes: Troy received 19 points, San Diego State 15, and Fresno received 4. (H/t: Class5Kayaker)
Your turn
Guys we are getting so close to football. What do you think of the ranking, and where some other schools landed (Texas at no. 21? huh, ok). Let me know.
