30 days. That looks suspiciously like a month. Let’s get it. What do you say, Robert Lewis?
#30, Robert Lewis, Sophomore, CB

Stats
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 178 lbs. (+3)
High School: Hawkins High School, Hawkins, IN Los Angeles, CA
How’d he get to The Blue™?
The three-star recruit was rated the #19 cornerback in the great state of California after back-to-back all-league selections in his junior and senior years in which he combined for 81 tackles, 6 sacks, and 3 picks. As a senior, Lewis was named to the all-city team as well as his aforementioned accolade. Lewis was not highly recruited, garnering offers from Boise State, UTEP, Azusa Pacific, and Dixie State...but he did jump on the Boise State offer relatively early, and held fast to his commitment despite the sacking of his chief recruiter—Julius Brown.
Nickname
“Locks”
It’s in his twitter handle, so I assume he likes it. I’m guessing it’s a nod to his hairdo or his desire to be a locksmith.
Look-alike

Booker T. of “Harlem Heat” and “looking like Robert Lewis” fame
Career Highlights
Three-star recruit per 247Sports and Scout.com. Named the #19 cornerback in the state of California by Scout.com. Two-time all-league selection (2014 and 2015) and named all-city after senior year. Lettered in track and field three times and football twice. Member of Augustus Hawkins Honor Roll.
2018 Prospectus
Lewis did not see action last season as a redshirt frosh...three other redshirt frosh (Reid Harrison-Ducros, Jalen Walker, and Avery Williams) saw to that, but it’s a new season and a new chance for #30 to step on The Blue (or the green for away games). Remember, Reid Harrison-Ducros elected to leave last season before even collecting a championship and bowl ring, so one would think he’s slowly moving toward that elusive PT—HOWEVER, former walk-on Avery Williams wrestled the starting gig away from RHD by season’s end anyway and Jalen Walker started the bowl game for a dinged up Tyler Horton...one would think he’s still got a ways to go.
When Boise State’s first depth chart of the year was released for MWC media days, Williams and Horton were predictably atop the CB stack, with Jalen Walker and RS frosh Jermani Brown in the two-spots. Lewis and Marques Evans are likely in the thick of things to sneak into the rotation and Lewis should definitely see the field this season on special teams at the very least. When fall camp opens on FRIDAY (*pops cork), a few new faces will insert themselves into the mix as well (Chris Mitchell and Tyric Lebeauf), so it’s gonna get awfully crowded even if only one starter has a boatload of experience. I’m expecting big years from Williams and Horton and the 2019 race is going to be verrrry interesting.

Yes, and he’s green screening with the best of ‘em
Completely made up fact
“Lewis” is actually Robert’s middle name and his real last name is “Stevenson”. Furthermore, he’s a 19th-century Scottish novelist. Crazy!
