We are halfway through the teens and just over 2 weeks out! SO CLOSE! Today is #15, Jalen Walker.
#15, Jalen Walker, RS Sophomore, CB

Stats
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 174 lbs. (+2 lbs)
High School/College: Lawndale HS, Lawndale, CA
How’d he get to The Blue™?
Jalen was a surprise in the 2016 class in that we didn’t know about him until signing day. The Broncos got a steal as he didn’t have any other offers, but based on some flashes he showed last fall, we got a good one.
Nickname
“Stu”
I have no idea why this is his nickname, but that’s what he is known as, per his Twitter. I, personally, liked Damien’s from last year. Witty, I must say.
Look-alike
Damon Wayans

Career Highlights
Jalen came on late in the 2017 season for the Broncos as a red shirt freshman. He played in 12 games, starting in one: The Las Vegas Bowl versus Oregon. Jalen had 6 total tackles, 5 solo, and 1 tackle for loss in that game, bringing his season total to 8 total tackles, 6 solo.
As a senior at Lawndale, Jalen had 116 total tackles, 76 solo, including 23 for-loss and four sacks, earning him Defensive Player of the Year for the Ocean League. HE played both DB and LB on defense and WR on offense. On the offensive side of the ball, he caught 12 passes for 172 yards and three touchdowns. You can guess where he excelled.
2018 Prospectus
The depth chart was released a couple of weeks ago and that helped shed a bit of light on some things. Jalen is currently planted behind Tyler Horton on the pre-fall camp depth chart.
Right now I think he is in good shape, but he can’t rest on his laurels as Tyric LeBeauf and Chris Mitchell will both be looking to take advantage of the new red shirt rules this year. Jermani Brown is slated as the other back up (to Avery Williams) and he will be in a similar position as Jalen, albeit without the game time experience that Jalen has. The secondary is a position that gets rotated quite a lot, so I expect to see Jalen and Jermani behind Horton and Williams plenty. The question out of fall camp and early season will be if they can hold onto those spots and if Mitchell and LeBeauf will earn more than the 4 game allotment.
Is he on Twitter?
See below. Keep your eyes peeled...

Completely made up fact
Being from Lawndale, CA, Jalen is an astute grass expert. Just by looking at your yard, he can tell what kind of grass it is, what kind of pests/weeds are prevalent, the last time you mowed and even the mineral content of the soil.
