Until we get a more ‘official’ depth chart from Boise State, we are going to have to satisfy our wild speculation with this bit of info that is quite telling.
Some observations:
- Octavius Evans getting the nod to start. Not too much of a surprise here. He really came together last season. Excited for what he can do in the starter slot.
- Garrett Larson getting the nod to replace All-MWC everything Mason Hampton. Some lofty shoes to fill and high expectations there.
- STUD: honestly you could put an ‘OR’ there and be fine. Jabril Frazier earned the top spot, but I wouldn’t have batted an eye if Curtis Weaver was there.
- Blake Whitlock as the starting WLB. Curious if there is going to be some flipping there with any of the other line backers. Mostly thinking of Tony Lashley getting some looks.
- There is a youth movement on defense: there are five seniors on the starting lineup, but the backups are all redshirt juniors and below.
Your Turn
I’m not sure about you guys, but this release made my day. Obviously there is still a lot of room to move on this, but this gets the juices flowing.
