It is important for a university to keep as much in-state talent in-state as possible—not only for the local connections, but having another school “out recruit” you in your own backyard is not the best look. Winning recruiting battles with those institutions close to Boise State (both in location and overall status) is a positive.
So anytime the Broncos can win a head-to-head recruiting battle with BYU is a must. If anything, to give the Cougars a punch to the upper thigh. Winning out over Pac-12 offers isn’t too shabby either.
That’s where the most recent Boise State commit fits in.
Excited to announce that I have committed to Boise State University! I would like to thank everyone who has gotten me to this point! Also big shoutout to my boy @KELLY_BSU #BleedBlue pic.twitter.com/9l8JFCXOGG

Mr. Keegan Duncan is a three-star recruit per the 247Sports composite with offers from Utah, Utah State, Montana, Montana State, Idaho State and Idaho (eww). He even had some interest coming in from Stanford.
Duncan has been tearing it up as a running back for Declo High School, amassing 2,843 yards on the ground and 29 touchdowns and nearly 3,800 total yards and 42(!) total TDs for the state champ Hornets. That’s a lot.
Congratulations to Duncan as he makes another step on his football journey.
As always, this is a non-binding verbal commitment to the Broncos. Anything can, and does, happen in the recruiting game. But we shall rejoice for now and be happy.
