The season didn’t end as planned. It is what it is really. Nothing we can do at this point to change what has happened. We just have to get better.
Let’s check in on the future Broncos!
Hank Bachmeier, QB, Murrieta Valley HS (Murrieta, CA)
Hank finished his senior season going 202 of 313 (64.5%) for 3,149 yards, 32 TDs to 9 INTs. He also had 93 rushes for 520 yards and 10 more TDs. For his decorated career, 797 of 1,181 (67.5%) for 13,150, 156 TD and 30 INT (5:1) and 317 rushes for 2,190 yards (6.9 ypc) and 31 TDs. That’s insanity.
Casey Kline, ATH, Brawley HS (Brawley, CA)
Brawley finished the season at 8-3 after falling to Morse 14-25. Casey had 3 carries for 33 yards and a TD and 2 receptions for 52 yards in the loss.
Full season stats for Casey are not yet available.
Keegan Duncan, RB, Declo HS (Declo, ID)
Don’t come at the Kings— Keegan Duncan (@keeganduncan2) November 17, 2018
Declo capped off an undefeated season and second straight 2A state title with a 41-24 victory over North Freemont. This is pretty much what the whole game looked like:
Keegan finished with 20 carries for 206 yards, 2 catches for 65 yards, and 2 total touchdowns, including a 76-yard kickoff return. Final season stats are not yet available for Keegan.
Jacob Golden, OL, Peoria HS (Peoria, AZ)
The Panthers lost a heart breaker to Seton Catholic 49-54, ending their season at 9-2. The Peoria offense produced 355 rushing yards in the loss. Jacob had 50 total tackles and 1 sack, not counting the playoff loss.
Ben Dooley, OL, Churchill County HS (Fallon, NV)
CCHS defeated Truckee 28-7 to win the NIAA 3A State Football Championship and finish the season undefeated. Stats in the game were not available. While Ben mostly played offensive line (which generally doesn’t keep stats), he did have 15 total tackles and 2 sacks on defense.
George Holani, RB, St John Bosco HS (Bellflower, CA)
SBJ lost a shocker to #3 Mater Dei to drop to #2 in CA and #2 in the nation. The final score of 13-17 was the Braves first and only loss of the year. George had 12 rushes for 79 yards in the loss.
George finished his senior year with 136 carries for 1,172 yards (8.6 ypc) and 18 TDs along with 13 receptions for 238 yards (18.3) ypc) and 7 more TDs.
Kaiden Bennett, QB, Folsom HS (Bellflower, CA)
Folsom defeated MontereyTrail 63-25 to win the CIF San Joaquin Section Championship. Kaiden was 16-28 (57%) for 323 yards and 4 TDs. He also rushed 11 times for 126 yards and 3 more scores. He accounts for a total of 449 yards and 7 TDs in the win.
The Bulldogs move on to the Division 1-AA NorCal Regionals against Central this Friday, 12/7, at 7:30pm.
Khyheem Waleed, WR, Casteel HS (Queen Creek, AZ)
Casteel’s playoff run ended with a loss to Higley 27-34. The Colts finished their season 9-3. Stats in the loss were not recorded.
Not counting the Higley game, Waleed had 25 receptions for 447 yards and 4 TDs on the year.
Michael Callahan, DE, Yorba Linda HS (Yorba Linda, CA)
Yorba Linda lost to Corona del Mar 12-49 in the CIF Southern Section Playoff quarterfinals, ending their playoff run. They finished 9-3.
Mike is a 6’4 246lb DE out of California that passed on offers from pretty much every Ivy League school along with AF, USU and SJSU. Mike had 64 total tackles, 33 solo, 11 TFL and 7 sacks, not including the loss to Corona del Mar.
Isaiah Bagnah, DE, Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (Lethbridge, AB, CA)
Bagnah hails from Canada, eh? Much like Tyrone Crawford and Mike Atkinson before him, Canada knows a thing or two about football. At 6’5 and 245 lbs, Bagnah is an imposing figure.
I don’t know much about how Canada runs their seasons, so I am having a hard time finding season stats for them. I’ll updated you when I find them.
I anticipate more “GO BRONCOS” in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eye out for them. Broncos are going bowling against Boston College in Dallas on 12/26. GO BRONCOS!
