Boise State’s relatively small 13-man recruiting class was already the best in the MWC, but tomorrow’s signing day haul just got a tad bit bigger and a whole lot better with the addition of Point Loma (San Diego, CA) athlete JL Skinner. Skinner, a 6’3” 185 lb athlete, who’s expected by many to slide into a safety spot, has been considered a Boise State lean for a while and that tag probably tended toward “heavy lean” after recruiting expert extraordinaire Brandon Huffman “crystal ball’d” him to the Broncos a few weeks ago. A few others thought he might end up at Cal, but moments ago, Skinner announced the Broncos had won the Skinner sweepstakes.

Skinner is a consensus 3-star commit, with 247sports giving him a score of 87, which definitely puts him near the top of the already-great class. Skinner is the 14th KNOWN commit of the 2019 class and many are saying at least one other commit is likely to announce for the Broncos in the morning as the early signing period commences. Skinner chose the Broncos over offers from Cal, Louisville, Arizona, BYU (lol), Colorado State, Hawaii, Iowa State, SDSU, SJSU, South Dakota, UC Davis, UNLV, Utah State, and Wyoming. You’ll certainly hear much more about him tomorrow, but here’s a Cliff’s Notes version in video form.
