Texas DB commits to the Broncos; their second commitment of the evening

The big STUD DE Dylan Hall announced his commitment to the Broncos just before I left the office today and now that I’m home after a quick stop off at the gym (get swole, bro), it looks like the big Bronco night isn’t over yet. Markel Reed, a 6’1” 166 lb. corner out of Temple, TX (Temple High) announced his commitment to the Broncos on the heels of a visit last weekend. Reed at one point was committed to Texas Tech, but Kliff Kingsbury’s dismissal left Reed re-thinking his decision, and the Broncos had been hard after the talented Texan since May and their work paid off as they caught him on the rebound. Reed is a 3-star commit according to 247sports and held offers from Purdue, Texas Tech (obviously), Arkansas, Baylor, Cornell, Kansas State, Rice, Rutgers, SMU, UTSA, and Vanderbilt. In fact—Rutgers, Northwestern, and Minnesota all came by the Reed residence in the last week, but so did Jeff Popovich and Reed apparently enjoyed his visit just a little more.

Reed might be one of the 3 silent commitments from earlier in the week or we could really be in for some surprises come next Wednesday. If you’d like to see the type of player the Broncos will be signing, just check out his hudl tape. I’m told it’s “lit” (am I pronouncing that correctly?)
