How sweet November was for the Broncos.
Boise State saw one of its best Novembers in school history, opponent-wise, and came out a spiffy 4-0.
Home games that saw nail-biting wins against BYU and Fresno State, a waxing of New Mexico, and a late-game pull-away from Utah State has given Boise State some sweet bragging rights.
And they’ve also come away with some bumps in the USA Today Coaches Poll and the AP Poll.
The Coaches Poll has the Broncos clocking in at no. 20 while the Aggies drop to no. 24.
The Broncos were slightly higher in the AP Poll at no. 19.
The AP Poll bludgeoned Utah State with a large rock, though, as they completely dropped the Aggies from the poll altogether. Going from no. 14 to NR (but still receiving votes) in the blink of an eye. Not sure if that was necessarily fair as the Aggies lost a respectable game, on the road, to a ranked opponent.
On the flip side, the Fresno State Bulldogs have made their return to the top 25 in both polls.
No. 23 in the Coaches and no. 25 in the AP. Which places even more importance on the MWC title game (December 1st In Albertson’s Stadium) as the the MWC gets to boast a top-25 matchup and it gives the Broncos another opportunity to beat a ranked opponent.
Fresno State slept-walked through the first half of the San Jose State game only up by three. They did eventually beat the Spartans 31-13.
All eyes now turn to the MWC title game where the Bulldogs look to avenge their 24-17 loss earlier this month.
