FINAL BSU 90 UNM 62

The Broncos started off HOT - 66.7% from the field and 50% from 3 in the first 4 minutes while keeping UNM off the board. It continued for the entirety of the half, highlighted by a MONSTROUS Hutch slam.

The Broncos weren’t necessarily shooting crazy good, but they were getting it done. 21-36 (58.3%) from the field and 3-10 (30%) from the field. The Broncos have shot just one free throw as well. UNM, on the other hand, didn’t shoot so great: 9-36 (25%) and 3-17 (17.6%) from 3. The Broncos won the rebound battle 28-15 as well.

The second half was much of the same. The Lobos, obviously frustrated, had a player ejected from the game following his second technical. The Bronco defense was smothering, allowing the Lobos to shoot just 36.4% from the field and nothing from 3 with just under 12 left in the game. Meanwhile, the Broncos were shooting 58.3% and 50% from 3.

The Lobos did their best to battle back, pulling within 21 with under 10, but the Broncos were having none of it. Hutchison brought Taco Bell arena back to life with a seismic dunk, followed by a Jessup 3, putting the lead back at 30.

The Broncos finish 13-2 and are now 3-0 in conference play. This UNM team took Nevada to the wire, losing 74-77 in Nevada. BSU just took them to the woodshed by 28 points. The Broncos finished 59.4% (38-64) from the field and 44.4% (8-18) from 3. Jessup lead the Broncos with 23 points, followed by 18 from Hobbs and 17 from Hutch. Hutch had a double-double with 10 rebounds as well.

The Lobos finished just 34.9% (22-63) from the field and 22.2% (6-27) from 3. Furstinger lead the Lobos with 15 points and 6 rebounds.

The Broncos travel to Wyoming (10-4) on Saturday. GO BRONCOS!
