Notable
Avery Williams will be conserving energy for returning punts by no longer appearing at strongside linebacker, apparently. On the depth chart at least. Obviously he’s cross-trained though if they need to throw him in.
Also, regarding special teams, Joel Velazquez no longer has a stranglehold on positions related to kicking balls with feet. Skillin is now listed as the backup at punter, but he got in the game and actually was responsible for some punts that WEREN’t shanked. So...we’ll see.
Same story for Haden Hoggarth. He’s listed as a backup, but he scored the only field goal for the Broncos on Saturday, so...
Also relevant is that Cozart doesn’t even have the ‘or’ next to his name. Two-time all-conference quarterback, Brett Rypien, is and will continue to be the starting quarterback, barring injury or a complete and total cataclysmic meltdown. Cozart is a capable backup and a situational complement to the offense. But, at the moment, that is all he is. Well...and a good dude. One of the nicest players we’ve interviewed.
