(Not that kind of rooting.)
Tier 0
Go Broncos!
Tier 0.5
Idaho at Western Michigan - Go Broncos, also!
Tier 1 - MW opponents over nonconference foes
Air Force at #7 Michigan - Both teams come into the game undefeated. Can AFA give Michigan the same fits they give us?
Utah State at Wake Forest - This is not your father's Wake Forest team. They're decent, especially since they stopped giving their signals and plays to the other team.
Colorado State at #1 Alabama - Colorado may not be a state after this.
Idaho State at Nevada - How bad is Nevada? Hopefully not bad enough to lose to Idaho State.
Oregon at Wyoming - Oregon already has a solid win on their season, and Wyoming missed their chance. Will they get a second chance here?
Fresno State at #6 Washington - Maybe Fresno State is a better challenge for UW than Rutgers was.
San Jose State at Utah - San Jose State may be improved, but they won't get much of a chance to show it here.
#19 Stanford at SDSU - SDSU gets a ranked team at home, with a chance to show off. Will they blow it?
Tier 2 - OOC opponents
Troy at New Mexico State - The Aggies managed hold to their lead against UNM last weekend. They'll need to build up a bigger lead against Troy.
Oregon State at Washington State - A chance for WSU's offensive line to recover from the BSU game.
UConn at Virginia - Last time we played UVA, I think they lost to FCS teams, and just about everybody else. This one has at least managed to beat William & Mary
Tier 2.5 - OK, maybe BYU, too
#10 Wisconsin at BYU - I wouldn't root too hard for BYU, here. Spend your rooting efforts elsewhere.
Tier 3 - Rooting for top G5 teams to lose
I love to see other G5 teams do well, but as long as we have a chance to go to a New Years bowl, I'll have to root for them to lose.
Illinois at #22 South Florida (Friday) - a good chance for the Bulls to get a P5 win here.
Rice at Houston - Houston is coming off a close win at Arizona last weekend.
Army at #8 OSU - Army might be overmatched in this, but right now, all three service academies are undefeated. Maybe not after this weekend.
Central Michigan at Syracuse - One of two ACC schools (w/ BC) on CMU's schedule.
Tulsa at Toledo - An intra-league matchup. Toledo has already beaten Nevada this year, and faces an underachieving Miami later on.
SMU at #20 TCU - I would love to see an upset, but that might put SMU in the driver's seat.
#25 UCLA at Memphis - Which UCLA team will show up?
Tier 4 - Rooting for former BSU players & coaches
Ole Miss at Cal - Wilcox seems to have installed some discipline on the Golden Bears, especially on defense. Will it be enough to get them to a bowl game?
Furman at NC State - OC Drinkwitz and QB Finley couldn't quite lead the Wolfpack to a win over South Carolina on opening weekend, and fans are starting to grumble.
Anybody else? I have probably lost track of other former coaches. Who else should I cheer on this season?
Tier 5 - Are there any other interesting games going on?
#3 Clemson at #14 Louisville - This is the premiere matchup featuring ranked teams. Clemson's defense showed up against Auburn. Can it contain Lamar Jackson?
#23 Tennessee at #24 Florida - The only other game between two ranked teams.
