Boise State Game Balls for week of August 20th

This week’s edition of Game Balls kind of snuck up on me. Technically the sports season started August 18th with a women’s soccer match. But this past week we saw some soccer and volleyball action so we will just get going today.

Game Ball One:

Baylee Blaser (soccer)

Ms. Baylee Blaser had herself a week. Against Southern Utah she came in as a substitute and proceeded to dominate. She had four shots on goal, and came up with a 50% success rate with two goals for the match. That was a match high for both teams. The Broncos would rout the Thunderbirds. Then Blaser would score the only Bronco goal against the University of Idaho a few days later. In the final minutes the Vandals were able to score a goal to tie it up. The match would end in a draw. For her three goals in the week, Ms. Blaser gets an OBNUG Game Ball!

Game Ball Two:

Sierra Nobley (volleyball)

The Broncos had a decent run last week at Arizona State with a 2-1 record in the Sun Devil Classic. The only loss was to host team Arizona State. Ms. Sierra Nobley was awesome, as per usual, with 48.5 points on 40 kills for the tournament. She averaged 4 kills, 3.3 digs, and 0.7 blocks per set. For this effort Ms. Nobley made the All-Tournament team. She is continuing her excellent play from last year and is showing no signs of slowing down. Anticipate her appearance here frequently.

Game Ball Three:

Maddi Osburn (volleyball)

Ms. Maddi Osburn also appeared on the All-Tournament Team at the Sun Devil Classic with Sierra Nobley. In the Libero position and the defensive end with 6.2 digs per set. The Vallivue High School alum continues to be a force for the Broncos entering her final year as a Bronco. And, with that, she gets a prestigious OBNUG Game Ball!

Your Turn

This feels good guys. Normal. Back to our comfort zone.
