The recruiting beacon was lit two days ago and then Twitter got LIT as Coach Harsin announced the addition of another 2018 commit while we tried to get the kids to brush their teeth.

Harsin’s #Stable hashtag led many to believe that top JuCo back Greg Bell might have pulled the trigger after his visit last week, but that was revealed to be erroneous as 5’11” 205 lb. RB Zidane Thomas out of Centennial HS in Peoria, Arizona revealed twas he all along. Thomas was offered by the Broncos back in May and it seemed he’d been coveting the offer for a few months as despite other offers rolling in, it was the Bronco offer that remained pinned atop his Twitter homepage.
3-star Thomas is the rated the 13th best back in the west and the 2nd best RB in Arizona and it’s not hard to see why—he ran for 2,329 yards and 22 TDs as a junior AND helped his team to a berth in the 5A Conference Championship game. Thomas briefly moved to Florida with his family after his junior season before returning to Centennial High, and may have to win an appeal to not miss any games for his upcoming senior season—a situation that harkens to the plight of 2017 RB commit Drake Beasley. Whether he plays every game for Centennial or not, he’s got plenty of ability, and the Broncos realized that early on.
Aside from his Boise State offer, Zidane had pulled in scholarships from Iowa State of the Big XII, UMass, and Northern Arizona and more offers could certainly be on their way (fellow 2018 RB commit Kazmeir Allen was offered by Cal just tonight). The bruising back can take a licking and keep on ticking, as evidenced by his highlights below.
Thomas’s commitment is non-binding until he signs in December OR February, but for now...let’s focus on the positives—he’s the 9th known commitment of the 2018 class and he’s an awfully good one.
