The Broncos have 77 days left until the Battle of Troy. So on this fine day, we’ll look at #77 on the Boise State roster—John Molchon
#77, John Molchon, Sophomore, OL

Stats
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 310 lbs
High School: Faith Lutheran High School, Las Vegas, Nevada
How'd he get to the Blue™?
John Molchon came to Boise as one of the hottest prospects coming out of the sometimes-literally-hotter-than-hell state of Nevada. Number 1 if you ask Scout.com and 8th if you ask Rivals.com. He was pretty much a consensus 3-star talent though.
Nickname
"The Mulcher"
Because he makes mulch out of defenders in the run game. Not in the pass game though. No. In that area of the game, pancakes are preferred.
...not that he can’t do those too. It’s just that his name doesn’t exactly invite word-based comparisons to flapjacks. So...yeah.
Moving on!
Look-alike

It was legitimately tempting to throw a Hemsworth in here—Liam, specifically—but since I just got my sweet Nick Duncan shirt today, my judgement may be temporarily swayed. I have to go with the man, the legend, the Three-sassin...Nick Duncan.
Career Highlights
Last year, Molchon was put in action for 7 games and started 3. He ended up getting playing time at multiple positions.
2017 Prospectus
Having already gotten some game action in 2016, including those 3 as a starter, it seems pretty likely that one of the tackle spots is going to be his in 2017. My real question is who he’s going to beat out. Ezra Cleveland is a monster and Archle Lewis is a seasoned vet that started 13 games last season. Who sits between the three of them? Or are there even more contenders? Intrigue abounds!
Is he on Twitter?
Affirmative. And we’re both momma’s boys, apparently.
Happy Birthday mom love you so much! https://t.co/oPpUkY3G4h

Completely made up fact
Not a made up fact at all, actually
When Molchon was first recruited, I remember breaking into a cold sweat because the name brought back terrible memories. Memories of cranking the difficulty settings WAY too high and getting wrecked by the final boss in ‘Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance’ as a teenager. Over and over and over and over again.
But then I was able to breathe a sigh of relief because I looked it up and the name was ‘Moloch’. I do, however, hope John brings the same enthusiasm to crushing defenses as Moloch did to crushing my character’s face with his medieval mace-like hand.
Bonus!
