Things are wrapping up folks. Only a few more weeks of these to go around. Let’s get to it.
Game Ball One:
Kinsley Bonfilio (golf)
Top Bronco at the women’s Mountain West Conference golf championships. Ms. Bonfilio finished tied for 23rd in the field. The Broncos finished in ninth (out of nine) with a +71 (UNLV finished first at +4). Not much you can do but keep improving. Congratulations to Bonfilio on the top-25 finish.
Game Ball Two:
Jamie-Lee Bulda / Laney Hayes (beach volleyball)
Went 3-0 during the Boise State-hosted doubles tournament. Would have played for the championship against Maddy O’Donnell and Maddi Osburn (2-0 these two played one less match due to a first round bye) but the match was canceled due to darkness. The all-Broncos final would have been a real Battle of the Titans as each of these athletes have been crucial to the volleyball team’s overall success. Unfortunately all the matches were exhibitions (Boise State is the only school to offer beach volleyball of all the schools that competed).
Game Ball Three:
Anja Dokic (tennis)
She won both her doubles match and singles match. The only two wins the Broncos had against the Utah State Aggies. As the no. 108th ranked player in the nation, she’s been a a stalwart for the team as they head into the Mountain West Conference championships this week. It is a good thing she’s been playing at a high level.
Your Turn
Yes. I know I left off one of the bright spots for this week, but Mr. Humphreys completed his run on Sunday.
