MWC Quarterfinals GameThread: Boise State vs San Diego State

Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

Something's gotta give tonight as the Broncos (19-10) take on the Aztecs (18-13). Boise State is 0-2 all-time against SDSU in the MWC tourney but have won their last two matchups with the Aztecs, including a 12-point win in their lone meeting in January. Boise State, a 3-seed, got a first-round bye and will play their first tournament game in the quarterfinals, while the Aztecs are coming of a come-from-behind overtime win over UNLV. No need to look for motivation in this one...it's win or go home and win or no Big Dance.

The Broncos will have to focus their energy on stopping or slowing the Aztecs' big three: Trey Kell, Jeremy Hemsley, and Malik Pope—each of whom are averaging double-digits in games this season. Of course, just like their last outing against Air Force, it would help the Broncos immensely if they can get their outside shooters hot. James Reid and Nick Duncan dropped 26 and 23 points, respectively, on the Falcons (who torched Wyoming in the first round of the tourney, BTW). Beyond that, Chandler Hutchison and Paris Austin should just do what they've been doing—scoring.

How to watch

Unfortunately, this one looks to only be available on CBS Sports Network—not the easiest channel to locate and one with non-existent streaming options. Locally, you can tune in to 670 KBOI for Bob Behler's play-by-play call.

Betting line

The Aztecs are 1-point favorites for reasons unknown.
