Scott Huff leaves Boise State for Washington

NCAA Football: Boise State at San Jose State Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

In news that really should not shock anyone, it was confirmed today that Boise State alum, Co-Offensive Coordinator, and all-around awesome Bronco, Scott Huff, is leaving the confines of Boise.

Coach Huff is joining the University of Washington staff as the offensive line coach as another former Bronco, Chris Strausser, left to coach in the NFL.

When the news that Coach Strausser was leaving, our own clairvoyant Fearless Leader Drew correctly noted that Huff would be on the Washington shortlist.

The timing of this coaching switch could have been a bit better. What with the Broncos starting spring ball on Monday, Boise State is without, at minimum, an offensive line coach. At worst they are out a co-offensive coordinator that had the bulk of the responsibility.

On the bright side, this could leave the full reigns of the offense in the hands of Coach Zak Hill. With Hill in control of the offense, with no split responsibility, this could lead to the consistency in offensive message and direction that was missing from last year.

We wish Coach Huff nothing but the best and look forward to him succeeding wherever he goes.
