Alexander Mattison and DeAndre Pierce were both freshman last year and as such, they were unavailable to the media for the duration of the season. With the start of a new off-season, however, we were given the opportunity to meet with them for the first time.
DeAndre discusses the move to safety and speaks at length of the instilled importance of preparation. He was also asked about the role that being the son of an NFL linebacker played in his growth and development and what it means to have the opportunity to start his own legacy.
Alexander spoke about the opportunity he was given, how his recruitment played out (with Boise receiving an early commit and later decommit from 4* RB, Damarea Crockett). In part 2, Alexander talks about his academics (graduated HS with a 4.67 GPA) and how that helped shape him into the student athlete he is now.
