I used to hate the sound that people made when I would say a dad joke.
But it has groan on me.
So Bronco football had a thing going on yesterday
And it was pretty awesome to be a part of all the festivities. Lots of info about the new Broncos joining the team.
Scout has the Broncos with the highest-rated class in the G5. BYU is technically higher, but they signed 28 athletes and the Broncos only had 19. Boise State’s average ranking is higher than BYU’s.
Rivals has the Broncos behind Memphis and BYU. Again, more of a function of quantity over quality on these since Boise State has a higher average.
At any rate, the Broncos appear to have another successful recruiting year in the books.
Bronco WBB fell at home to Colorado State
Boy Mountain West Conference schedule has NOT been kind to the Broncos. This drops Boise State to 5-5 in conference and in a rough spot. They are on the road the next two games, so things aren’t about to get much easier.
Bronco soccer also signs some ballers
Collegiate soccer has quite different rules/expectations regarding when athletes are going to see the field. Way more often will you see true freshman make the pitch than you would see a true freshman see the field in American football. Looking forward to these athletes making an impact. Maybe they will push Coach Jim Thomas’ squad over the hump.
Apparently softball got to sign yesterday as well?
I checked the Broncos’ softball Twitter feed and no mention of signees. I also could not find any other notices. But I guess we shall see something soon.
Congrats Gianna! Central wishes you the best of luck at Boise State! pic.twitter.com/Xff1feNNSs

Bronco swimming & diving get some top 25 love
The one thing I hate about the olympic sports is that the Power 5 are just entrenched at the top. Stanford is always raking in the love.
After three-straight meet wins ove rthe past two weeks, the Broncos received four votes in the latest CSCAA Top 25! pic.twitter.com/TadgGWo9Tw

I mean just look at that list. It is a veritable who’s who of not Group of Five schools. Does Yale even count considering as a Group of Five? It’s Yale for corn’s sake.
Oh and the swimming and diving had signees.
national signing day w/ megs (again) ♀️ blessed to be apart of the bronco family for the next four years pic.twitter.com/pateFUVf0d

Tom Wilson leaving Boise State basketball
I assume he was the final piece to a NCAA Elite Eight tournament run. Oh what could have been. I wish him well, even though I never, really, got a chance to root for him.
Speaking of Boise State MBB
They are now, for the moment, tied for first place in the Mountain West.
MBB tied again at the top of the MWC. Big game Saturday night at 6 pm in Boise vs Utah State. Let's get loud Bronco Nation!

For those of you who don’t know, Utah State beat Nevada 74-57. Yes. Seventeen points. Sure it was in Logan but Nevada ran Boise State out of the Taco Bell Arena. And the Broncos beat the Aggies in Logan. This basketball season is so weird. So now the Broncos and Wolf Pack are both 7-3 now.
Miscellinkeous
So this is just a site that keeps count of certain, well, things. Like number of books being published, tweets being sent, population, etc. Worldometer. It is in German, so you will need to translate.
