It's a New Year's Eve Eve Mountain West throwdown between the Broncos and the Runnin' Rebels at Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas, so get hyped, kids. Both teams enter the matchup with identical records (11-2) on the line and will try to seize early control of the conference race. UNLV has won five straight coming into the game and are currently the highest-scoring team in the conference—averaging a scorching 91.2 points per contest, so the Broncos have their work cut out for them in Sin City.
The Rebels have 4 players averaging double-digit points per game, but Brandon McCoy will the main guy to watch for UNLV, as he's averaging a double-double (18.9/10.9) so far in 2017 (and likely in early 2018 as well, if everything holds up). The Broncos also have 4 players averaging double-digit points per game, but the numbers are slightly less gawdy. Obviously, the Broncos will need a big game from senior Chandler Hutchison (16.3/8.1) to pull off the upset in LV.
This one may be interesting to find if you want to watch it, as it's currently slated to air on AT&T SportsNet and ROOT SPORTS Northwest. A streaming option is supposedly available HERE, but I can't vouch for the quality or if you'll encounter a paywall. Of course, there's always good old reliable Bob Behler calling the game on 670 KBOI, so if you run out of viewing options...there you go. We'll be along after for a hopefully victorious game recap.
