Basketball GameThread: Boise State vs Eastern Oregon

Are you ready for some _____ball?!

Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

Don't look now, but it's basketball season. Actually, go ahead and look your Boise State Broncos are in action tonight for their "regular" season opener against Eastern Oregon from the ranks of NAIA. OBNUG will not be represented courtside this evening, but we're far from alone, as most of the local media is in Fort Collins for tomorrow's big CSU-BSU tilt. There will be cameras there, however, and you can watch what they're capturing at the provided link [HERE]. Then again, you can hear Abe Jackson and Chris Lewis on 670 KBOI with the call (Bob Behler...also in Colorado).

Boise State didn't quite set the world afire in their exhibition game against College of Idaho, but don't read too much into that, as Leon Rice (entering his 8th year as Boise State's headman) was likely experimenting with some lineups. Tonight, look for a more balanced effort from the 2017-18 Broncos that begins with Naismith Award Watch Lister Chandler Hutchison and includes a lot of new faces like Casdon Jardine, Cam Christon, Lexus Williams, and Christian Sengfelder. Another point of interest will be to see how the Broncos tackle the loss of PG Paris Austin, who inexplicably bolted in the offseason for hometown Cal. Ready or not, here comes basketball. This is March November.
