Tonight, the Broncos got their second verbal commitment in two days when Demitri Washington, a 6’5” 235 lb. defensive end from Santa Fe Christian in Solana Beach, CA announced his pledge to the blue and orange. Washington visited Boise for the home opener and at least one eagle-eyed fellow noticed.
Saw football recruit Demetri Washington at the game yesterday. Big kid. Seeing his dad made me think he'll only get bigger too.

As I’d noticed allll the way back in September, Washington’s big frame looks like it will only support more good weight and he could be a real force on the edge for the Broncos in 2018 and beyond. Washington’s offer list is an interesting one as he was coveted by several Pac-12 schools and a host of Ivy League institutions. I don’t have an Ivy League education, but I take this to mean he’s athletic and smart. As of this evening, he reported offers from Air Force, Arizona, Brown, Cal, Columbia, Cornell, Fresno State, Navy, Penn, Princeton, Washington State, Wyoming, and Yale.
Washington suffered a season-ending injury in the 5th game of the season, but had piled up impressive stats on both sides of the ball before tearing his labrum—45 tackles, 5 sacks, and 10 quarterback hurries. On offense, he racked up 507 yards passing, rushing, and receiving. Busy man. Of course, you don’t have to take my word for it...just watch the big man in action during his junior season.
