It’s officially fall and it’s also a bye week! Sometimes those are pretty awesome. This week is one of those cases. Let’s get to it with the recruiting and things.
Andrew VanBuren, RB, Caminade HS (West Hills, CA)
There wasn’t a lot of info on Andrew last week, but if you have been on Twitter AT ALL this week, you’re well aware of the destruction Andrew caused. Caminade handled Serra last Friday 37-32 behind a dominating effort from Andrew. Andrew had 39 carries for 332 yards and 5 TDs. THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO YARDS. That’s 8.5 yards per carry. Not to rub salt in any wounds, but Boise State currently has 468 rushing yards through 4 games. That’s crazy. Andrew currently has 787 yards on 120 carries and 14 TDs through 6 games. That’s roughly 6.6 yards per carry.
There are also mid-season highlights available for VanBuren.
Stats for the win against Crespi have been updated. Andrew had 7 carries for 33 yards and 2 TDs in the win.
Chaminade has a bye this week, but takes on Loyola on Friday, 10/13 at 7pm.
Scale Igiehon, DT, Del Valle HS (Del Valle, TX)
Del Valle lost their first game of the year to Ennis 17-13. While stats weren’t available in the loss, Scale had a short highlight clip.
Del Valle takes on San Marcos on Friday, 10/6 at 730pm.
Kukea Emmsley, DE, Kapolei HS (Kapolei, HI)
Kapolei blanked Nanakuli this week 36-0, moving to 4-5 on the season. Stats for the game were not available, but Kukea did have highlights.
Kapolei takes on 'Aiea this Friday, 10/6 at 730pm (Hawaii time).
Brandon Hawkins, LB, Georgetown HS (Georgetown, TX)
The Eagles dismantled Bastrop 62-3 Friday improving to 4-1. Stats have not yet been posted for this game. Through the Elgin game, though, Brandon has 46 total tackles, 6 TFL, 3 sacks and a blocked field goal.
Georgetown takes on Eastview Friday, 10/6 at 730pm.
Zidane Thomas, RB, Centennial HS (Peoria, AZ)
Centennial shocked No. 3 St Aquinas 12-0 on Friday, staying undefeated at 6-0. St Aquinas had not allowed a TD yet this season. While I can’t find total stats for Thomas, his first carry went for 27 yards and his last carry was a 56-yard TD run, sealing the win and notching St Aquinas first TD surrendered this season. It was also the first time in 20 years that St Aquinas had been shut-out. St Aquinas is the reigning Florida 7A State Champions. After the win, Centennial moved to #12 in the nation. This was also the first time ever that Zidane’s mother watched a game live.
HIGHLIGHT IS UP UPSET CITY in Peoria as @Cehsfootball beat #3 Ranked @STA_Football in a hard-hitting game!

Philip Mills, LB, Paloma Valley HS (Menifee, CA)
Paloma Valley had a bye this week. They will take on Temescal Canyon on October 6th at 7pm.
Zachary Wilson, QB, Corner Canyon HS (Draper, UT)
Corner Canyon moved to 6-0 after thumping Brighton 52-13. Wilson only played 2 full quarters and one possession in the third, but accounted for 4 total touchdowns. I can’t find actual stats in the game, though. If I can find them, I’ll update.
Corner Canyon takes on Cottonwood this Friday at 7pm.
Keeghan Freeborn, OG, Rocky Mountain HS (Meridian, ID)
Rocky Mountain dropped a low scoring contest to Borah 7-6, moving to 4-2 on the season. Stats aren’t kept for offensive lineman. It also wasn’t clear if Freeborn was still out.
Rocky Mountain takes on Kuna this Thursday at 7pm.
Kekaniokoa Gonzalez, C, Mater Dei HS (Santa Ana, CA)
Mater Dei did indeed hve a bye this week. They will take on Santa Margarita on Friday, 10/6 at 7pm.
Cole Ramseyer, TE, Coeur d’Alene HS (Coeur d’Alene, ID)
The Vikings handled Capital Christian on Friday 45-7, improving to 4-2 for the year. Cole did not play in the win as he had a high ankle sprain.
CDA takes on Lewiston this Friday at 7pm.
More videos this week, and sort of more stats?! Definitely more info on some of the players, but the standard fare of not a lot of info kept or made available. I will continue to do the best I can as far as finding stats. Go Broncos!
