Basketball GameThread: Boise State vs UNLV

Joshua Dahl-USA TODAY Sports

Boise State looks to go 3-0 in conference play when they visit the Thomas and Mack Center in sunny (presumably) Las Vegas. The Broncos (9-4) have won five straight as they head to the normally tough venue, but the Runnin' Rebels (8-7) seem to be lacking their normal edge. UNLV dropped their conference opener to Colorado State (a team Boise State defeated on Saturday night), but got past Wyoming to even their league record at 1-1. The Runnin' Rebels have 3 primary players to be wary of, and they're all averaging double-figures. First, Jalen Poyser is averaging 14.1 PPG and leads the Rebels in assists, with 3.5 per contest. Next up is Tyrell Green, who has one of the more well-rounded stat lines on the roster with a 13.3 PPG average and 6.2 boards. Last but not least, the Broncos will need to keep Christian Jones in check. He's chipping in 10.6 points per game and is second on the team in rebounding average (7.0).

How to watch

Tonight's game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network (Channel Finder: DirecTV 221, Dish 158, Cable ONE 139/1139), but if your dish is frozen you could also tune into the game on 670 KBOI with the "voice of the Broncos" Bob Behler.

Betting line

Boise State is currently favored by 4.5 and since the game is in Las Vegas that actually might mean something.

Fun fact

Freshman UNLV forward Djordjije Sljivancanin's name makes veteran Boise newscaster Mark "Doug Harper" Johnson break into a cold sweat.
