To the victor goes the Game Balls!
Game Ball One:
Marijke Vanderschaaf (basketball)

The redshirt sophomore in Ms. Vanderschaaf led all Bronco scorers with 20 in the win against Wyoming. The Broncos had a rebound game (GET IT?!) after they dropped one to Nevada last Wednesday. It’s weird that the Broncos have had such a rough go since hitting conference slate. The Broncos made it out relatively unscathed in their out of conference (10-1, that lone loss was to brick wall Washington Huskies). Since they ventured into conference play they are 5-4. But, importantly, they took down the conference leaders in Wyoming. Broncos have to keep the momentum going and Vanderschaaf is going to help that.
Game Ball Two:
James Reid (basketball)

The Wyoming game was the first game in a bit that Mr. Reid started a game. And he made count. He put up a Bronco-high 16 points, pulled down two rebounds, and two steals. Broncos got out-muscled the previous game against the Nevada Wolf Pack and needed this win. Like Coach Leon Rice said, big difference between 6-3 and 5-4. Broncos came out on the right side.
Game Ball Three:
Sandra Collantes (gymnastics)

The Broncos got the better of the BYU Cougars. So much that Ms. Collantes ran away with the all-round with a 39.200. The Broncos indeed earned their fair share of the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference weekly awards for good reason. Collantes’ strong season is one of them.
Game Ball Four:
Brittany Ayoama (swimming)

Last Saturday the Broncos beat the Nevada Wolf Pack and Northern Arizona. Ms. Ayoama led that effort with four wins. There is one more diving event, then the Mountain West Conference Championships are on next. This meet was but a little taste of what is to come, as the Wolf Pack squeaked by with a conference title last year over the Broncos. It was Head Coach Jeremy Kipp’s first year at the helm. With Ayoama leading Boise State, they have a chance of reclaiming that crown.
Your Turn
All right guys. That’s about it for this week. Anyone else?
