Broncos handle the Spartans

NCAA Basketball: New Mexico at Boise State Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

The Broncos tried to make the game interesting late after leading 43-30 at half. For 10 minutes of the second half the Broncos were scoreless. Fortunately this time it didn’t matter.

Wacker finished with a team high 17 points, followed by Hutchison with 15 and Austin with 11. Hutchison finished with 8 rebounds as well. The Broncos won most of the statistical categories including rebounds, turnovers and points from the bench.

The Broncos shot 29% from the 3-pt line while the Spartans were just 8%. Yikes. The Broncos were 50% from the field versus the Spartans 40%. Free throw shooting worked in each teams favor though with the Broncos shooting 74% and the Spartans 69%. The Broncos also never trailed in the game.

The Broncos get Nevada at home on Wednesday. Musselman has the Wolfpack player really good basketball right now, so show up in support of the Broncos folks!
